It's the glue part of stitch and glue - epoxy fillet - with West System Epoxy

Now that the boat is all stitched up and spread to the correct angle it is time for epoxy the seams at that angle. I used West System Epoxy, but you could use Systems Three or MAS (I think Devlin offers MAS epoxies now). To make these epoxy filets I used a variety of fillers, including microballons. For these fillets I think I used a mixture of West System 407 Low-Density Filler and 406 Colloidal Silica.



I created my own expoxy spreading tools out of thin plywood. I was lucky enouph to have five gallons of West System Epoxy from an earlier project.

You have to put a big enough fillet in to cover up the wires and add sufficient strength to the joint.
