Here you can see that boat after I have wet out the inside with a coating of West epoxy. I actually did a couple of coats of epoxy inside. The epoxy completely keeps out any water from the wood and ads some stiffness to the side panels. Notice that at this point I have removed the spreading device and yet the boat is holding a decent shape without it, partly because of the bow and stern hooks installed, and partly because of the epoxy fillets that are holding the angle of the side panels.
It is starting to look kind of pretty at this point. I had decided not to have any clear coated wood for this boat, so I was not overly concerned with a perfect appearance.
