In the stern you can see the stern seat the I epoxied in. It is another piece of balsa core. I wanted a seat for a passenger in the stern (my wife mostly). I would then slide back on my rowing seat and use a second set of oarlocks. It worked great, and the seat keeps the center of gravity nice and low.
