Wetting out Exterior Fiberglass with Epoxy

This is my least favorite part of stitch and glue boat building, wetting out big areas of fiberglass cloth.

In this picture the boat has been wet out. It took three coats to fill all glass.

I also decided I wanted some very heavy fiberglass on the bow because I knew I would be beaching the boat often on hard gravel and rocks. I used some 10oz glass matt left over from another project. I carried this all along the bow curve and back onto the bottom of the boat aways, effectively creating a plate of fiberglass on the bottom for about eight inches. It worked great. I never worried about getting through to the wood when beaching the boat. You can also just see in this picture the little keel on the back that I added.
